Meet Auntie Ny
Hi, I'm Auntie Ny
People call me Auntie because that is how it feels to talk with me. The space I create feels familiar, like sitting with someone who listens without judgment and tells you the truth with care. You feel seen, not studied. Heard, not managed. Safe enough to be honest and brave enough to heal.
I became a therapist because I know what it feels like to hold everything together while quietly falling apart. I know what it means to be the strong one who still needs support. That experience shaped how I work. Counseling with me blends real conversation, steady guidance, and the kind of presence that helps you breathe again.
Counseling and comfort can exist together. You do not have to choose between honesty and gentleness. I bring both. You can expect warmth, truth, and a clear path forward. The work can be deep, but it is never cold. Every session is a space for growth that feels both challenging and safe.
My approach is simple. We slow down, pay attention, and get to the heart of what is really happening. I help you make sense of your emotions, understand your patterns, and find balance in the places that feel heavy. We create peace that fits your life and is defined by you.
Who I Am
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate with a master's degree in Counseling and more than ten years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families. My background combines clinical expertise, cultural sensitivity, and genuine human care.
Before private practice, I worked in community settings that served people carrying trauma, grief, and emotional exhaustion. Those experiences taught me how to hold space for both pain and hope. They also taught me that people heal best when they feel safe and understood.
People often say my sessions feel like sitting with someone who recognizes your strength before you do. That is what I aim for each time we meet. Therapy with me is human, grounded, and real.
My Story
I did not plan to become a therapist. I thought I was going to be an English teacher, but my degree in English helped me to be good at clinical documentation! I had other gifts I used to become a Therapist because I needed someone who could listen without judgment and get me back to myself. It was hard to find a therapist who checked the boxes I was seeking. When I finally experienced how powerful that kind of connection could be, I knew I wanted to give it to others.
Over the years, I have worked with people carrying betrayal, sexual abuse trauma, anxiety, family mistrust, depression, burnout, broken trust, and self-doubt. I have watched them learn to set boundaries, speak honestly, and rebuild peace from the inside out. That process never stops being sacred to me.
Therapy with me is not about quick fixes or surface solutions. It is about understanding where you have been, what you believe about yourself, and how to live with more freedom and balance.

How I Work — Grounded, Human, and Real
Culturally Grounded
Your background, your story, your people, and your faith are not things to be edited or explained. They are part of your strength. If your faith or spirituality is part of your healing, we make space for it.
Evidence Informed
My work is built on proven methods that actually help people change. I use approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and trauma focused care in ways that fit your personality and life.
Collaborative and Empowering
I do not believe in fixing people. I believe in walking with them. You bring your story and I bring my skill. Together we create a plan for growth that fits your rhythm. You lead the process. I guide it with intention, compassion, and honesty.
Why It Matters
Healing works best when you feel understood. Too many people have spent time explaining their background or defending why something hurt. That kind of exhaustion does not belong in therapy.
When you feel safe to be yourself, the work moves faster. You can get to the real issues, the deep relief, and the kind of peace that stays. Therapy is not meant to make you smaller. It is meant to help you see how capable you already are.

Beyond the Session
When I am not working, I spend time outdoors, cooking, writing, and staying connected to the people who remind me of what matters most. Prayer, sunsets, the sound of crickets chirping, hiking, my children, good smells and good food keep me grounded.
I know what it feels like to need a space that feels both safe and challenging. I am not here to impress you with credentials. I am here to help you heal, grow, and find peace defined by you.
